.:: Review "Guardami" by Raffaele Bassano ::.

Raffaele Bassano , in his work called " Guardami" , uses  common stories to face the various  matters which compose the life of us all.
It seems that the author wants to cut out some natural scenes, those that we see, listen, we feel on our skin every day, to give prominence to the feelings and to analyze, without any pretension, the human relationships.

This work is different because it doesn't deal with the usual erotic stories, where it often misses totally the plot and we have only and pure scene of sex, but  it deal with "real" stories , as the author himself says , different events  that show clippings of daily life in which all can recognize.

The novel is written as a personal diary where the protagonists can pour against their own emotions and their routines.

The novel is apparently autobiographic and the narrating voice plays with the name of the author without however to trace its personal stories.

The stories are rather explicit without never being vulgar , they are exiting without being banal.

They are stories from which so many feelings shine through, first among the whole love , but also the irony , the desire of the transgression, the joy.

The novel "Guardami" is presented as a harvest not of stories, but of situations , feelings and events which don't neglect anything of the background.

Sometimes it seems that the author doesn't want to deepen too much with the matter , even to leave to the reader the possibility to interpret the story by him/herself.

"Guardami" becomes in this way a representation oh the  daily reality in which a great prominence is given to the internal approach, more intimate and psychological.

Raffaele Bassano finds, through his  writing, a good way to speak of so many histories but using the small pieces which compose the unique and final image of the book.
